Challenge shortlisted for public sector award

The Brathay Apprentice Challenge, the search for the apprentice team of the year, has been named one of the top public sector campaigns this year.

The campaign has been shortlisted as “Partnership Engagement Initiative of the Year” in the Public Sector Communications Awards.

The unique partnership behind the Brathay Apprentice Challenge delivers on a number of levels:

  • Apprentices have an enhanced apprenticeship experience which many employers would not have the scope to deliver without engaging in such a Challenge.
  • Organisations are able to deliver against their CSR policies
  • Important contributions are being made to the Government apprenticeship targets
  • Employers and young people are being educated about apprenticeships from apprentices themselves.

Since 2012 the annual Challenge has engaged nearly half a million young people on the benefits of apprenticeships. Developments made to the Challenge in 2017 have seen the number of schools and businesses engaged with increase by a third and the number of young people reached has doubled compared to 2016.
