Campaign Collective launches Tomorrow’s Engineers Week 2021 #TEWeek21

Campaign Collective is working with EngineeringUK for the fifth year running to deliver Tomorrow’s Engineers Week.

The ninth edition of the Week will take place from 8 to 12 November and coincides with the COP26 Climate Summit. Taking inspiration from the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Tomorrow’s Engineers Week will emphasise how engineering careers can contribute to tackling climate change and achieving net zero.

Campaign Collective has created a unique Tomorrow’s Engineers Week Schools COP as the highlight of #TEWeek21, to encourage the next generation to discuss and learn about the current and future climate issues, and how engineering careers can contribute to sustainable solutions. The event will also explore how the engineers behind technological and scientific breakthroughs will be at the heart of the world’s response to climate change in the coming years.

In the past three years alone, Tomorrow’s Engineers Week has seen over 130,000 young people take part in interactive engineering activities, almost half a million views of inspiring films about engineers on a mission to reduce the damage being done to the planet, hundreds of millions of social media content views and widespread media coverage.

Sarah Colombini, Founder Member of Campaign Collective commented:

“We are pleased to be working with EngineeringUK on Tomorrow’s Engineers Week for the fifth year to highlight to young people how an engineering career can make the world a better place.

“The vision of this campaign really resonates with us, not just as a social enterprise, but as people who will begin to personally feel the effects of rapid climate change in upcoming years.

“With the UN stating to preserve a liveable climate, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced to net zero by 2050, there is a clear goal in sight for engineers all over the world and we want to ensure that young people have the opportunity to both discuss how we can achieve net zero and how engineering is going to help to achieve that.”
