Campaign Collective was proud to support the Scottish Rewilding Alliance at this year’s SNP Conference in Aberdeen, helping to bring the message of a wilder, greener future to the heart of Scottish politics.
Campaign Collective has partnered with SRA for nearly two years, helping to grow the movement’s visibility and impact. In that time, more than 12,000 people have signed the Rewilding Nation Charter, showing clear and growing public support for making Scotland the first Rewilding Nation in the world.
Putting rewilding on the political map
This autumn has been a pivotal moment for the campaign. Earlier in October, SRA staged a highly successful stunt outside the Scottish Parliament, putting the Rewilding Nation campaign directly in front of MSPs, media and the public. Alongside this, the campaign has maintained a strong presence in Holyrood, including hosting a stand inside the Parliament building for three days, a significant step in embedding rewilding in the national conversation.
Rewilding and the Rewilding Nation Charter are now firmly on the radar of decision makers. Eight in ten people in Scotland support rewilding, and momentum is building across parties and communities alike.
Engaging leaders at SNP Conference
The SNP Conference provided a crucial opportunity to deepen political engagement. The SRA stand drew interest from delegates and elected members keen to learn more about the benefits of rewilding for communities, nature and the economy. High-profile visitors included former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister John Swinney and Westminster Leader Stephen Flynn, all stopping by to discuss how Scotland can become a Rewilding Nation.
Michael Bannister of Campaign Collective said:
“The level of engagement at the SNP Conference was hugely encouraging. We had lots of thoughtful questions from people who were genuinely curious about what rewilding can deliver. There’s been a real shift in tone, it’s clear people are beginning to see the tangible benefits for nature, climate and the economy that rewilding can bring. It felt like a conversation that has moved on from why to how we make this happen.”
Campaign Collective supported SRA with communications expertise and a fresh, eye-catching stand to help get their message across.
A growing movement ahead of 2026
Looking ahead, the Scottish Rewilding Alliance aims to secure commitments to rewilding in party manifestos ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections. With public support at record levels and strong interest from elected representatives at the SNP Conference, the movement is well placed to make rewilding a key political issue in the months to come.
Campaign Collective is proud to be part of this growing movement for a wilder Scotland.
