Communicating Causes book launched

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan’s prediction that the 21st Century would be the “era of the NGO” is an appropriate starting point for Communicating Causes – an all encompassing new book on the state of campaigning in the charity sector.

Dr. Nicky Garsten and Prof. Ian Bruce’s compilation of essays on how public relations fits within campaigns was launched last night at a Public Relations & Communications Association event in London.

Simon Francis, Chair of the PR & Communication Association’s Charity & Not For Profit Group and Founder Member of Campaign Collective, commented:

Communicating Causes will become the go to bible for anyone wanting the history of campaigns, the ethical considerations of campaigning and practical inspiration on how to campaign effectively.

It is a vital reference point for people at all levels of charity campaigning – from volunteers and front line staff to trustees and the charity boardroom.

A full review of the book is on Simon’s personal blog and it can be ordered on Amazon Smile.
