As a social enterprise, Campaign Collective makes a positive contribution to society through both our campaign work and by investing our profits into our social purpose fund.
In September 2018, we launched our most ambitious social enterprise project yet, our positive news website The Rooftop News, which aimed to connect the public to positive news about important campaigns and achievements of small charities that the mainstream media all too often overlooks.
The Rooftop News – the online home of positive news worth shouting about
Providing a daily dose of positive news, The Rooftop News attracted up to 500,000 content views a week at its peak, with around 50,000 followers on Facebook.
In 2020, The Rooftop News became an independent Community Interest Company, The Rooftop News CIC.
Expanding its content offering in 2022, The Rooftop News launched The Rooftop News Podcast, featuring in-depth interviews with influential people, and a long-form feature series called Real Voices, which enabled individuals affected by challenging circumstances to share first-hand accounts of their experiences to help and inspire others.
In October 2024, The Rooftop News closed as funding options to keep it open were exhausted. During its six years, The Rooftop News produced nearly 1,600 news articles, and provided a voice to smaller organisations and individuals overcoming challenges while meeting the wider public’s growing need for more positive news.
Campaign Collective has taken on curating The Rooftop News’s digital content, so that previous content is not lost.
