Louise Akers is an award-winning communications expert with over fifteen years’ experience of working in communications roles and leading campaigns to generate high quality media coverage. Louise specialises in the charity and public sectors and has a particular interest in science, health and research communication.
She has worked in-house for a number of national and international charities including ActionAid International, British Heart Foundation, Rethink Mental Illness and the National Deaf Children’s Society. She also has extensive experience of the public sector having worked in communications and media relations roles for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Hertfordshire. Since joining the Campaign Collective in 2018, Louise has worked on high-impact campaigns for the Royal National College for the Blind, the International Menopause Society, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, CEASE UK, Palms Row Health Care, United World Colleges, the Sickle Cell Society and the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce.
