Eskmuthe Rowing Club receives support from Campaign Collective Community Fund for World Championships

Eskmuthe Community Rowing Club has been awarded a £150 donation from the Campaign Collective Community Fund to help cover costs as members prepare to travel to the 2025 SkiffieWorlds – the World Championships of St Ayles skiff coastal rowing – in Stranraer this July.

The donation will go towards kitting out the younger rowers and other crew in t-shirts for the event, which will see 79 clubs from 13 countries compete over six days of racing and celebration.

The Campaign Collective Community Fund is part of the social enterprise’s commitment to reinvesting its profits into grassroots and community-led initiatives. The Fund provides small grants to aid campaigning, community development, and participation in public life – especially where this strengthens inclusion, wellbeing and social justice.

Eskmuthe’s crews will join thousands of rowers, volunteers and supporters descending on Loch Ryan from 7–13 July. In addition to the races – which cover junior, adult and masters categories – the week-long festival will feature music, food, and community events, showcasing the spirit of coastal rowing.

The Club’s Regatta Officer, David Lee, said:

“This support from the Campaign Collective Community Fund makes a real difference. It helps ensure that everyone who wants to row can look the part, regardless of personal circumstances. We’re incredibly excited to represent Musselburgh on the world stage.”

Sarah Colombini, Founder Member of Campaign Collective, commented:

“Our new Community Fund ensures that local groups that mean a lot to our members share in the profits generated by our social enterprise.

“We’re proud to support Eskmuthe Community Rowing Club as they head to SkiffieWorlds 2025. Community sport plays a vital role in bringing people together and improving wellbeing.”
