Jo Tilley-Riley

Jo is a coach and an expert in strategic communications and influencing.

She has over 20 years’ experience in the social sector, most recently as Executive Director of Fundraising and Communications at Hestia, where she also oversaw the charity’s digital strategy and its domestic abuse and sexual violence prevention programme. She was instrumental in developing the Safe Spaces initiative in 7,000 pharmacies and banks across the UK and led the public affairs influencing on the Domestic Abuse Act and Illegal Migration Bill.

She is an expert in social sector strategy and communications, having led the communications team at Big Society Capital, where she was also founding Chair of Good Finance. She has also worked as a communications consultant to social sector organisations and run a small digital agency that she helped found.

Jo began her career as a fundraiser with The Irene Taylor Trust ‘Music in Prisons’. She was a Trustee of Pro Bono Economics and was Chair of Relate London SE. She is a Clore Social Fellow 2015 and as part of her Fellowship was seconded with the Independent Anti- Slavery Commissioner.

In 2022 Jo qualified as a coach with Meyler Campbell, and now specialises in supporting clients from the social sector and women returning to work following maternity leave.
