Campaign Collective Community Fund supports safer sea swimming

To help create a safe sea swimming course in Paignton, Campaign Collective has supported local community group Torbay Tri Club with the purchase and installation of four swimming buoys.

The swimming buoys off Paignton beach, Goodrington provide a sea swimming route for people training for triathlons or leisure swimming.

Torbay Tri Club seek to build a supportive community for members to swim, bike and run in Torbay. With the summer approaching, creating a safe sea swimming route enables training to be undertaken in the sea in a safe and enjoyable environment.

As a social enterprise, Campaign Collective makes a positive contribution to society through campaign work, and each year a proportion of profits is donated to a community fund that makes a difference to Members’ local community well-being.

Ben Flower, Chairman for Torbay Tri Club said:

“Due to storm damage last year the swimming buoys off the coast were damaged and had to be removed. Thanks to the funding from Campaign Collective we have been able to purchase and install new buoys creating a new swimming course for our members and those in Torbay to enjoy.”

Sarah Colombini, Founder Member of Campaign Collective said:

“Living in Torbay with the sea on my doorstep and as a member of Torbay Tri Club, I was pleased to support the Club with funding towards the swim buoys as they provide a vital part of sea swimming for members.”
